For the majority of my years here on earth I have been planning and prepping. It started when I was young, camping with my father and brother. Making fire, building shelter, fishing for dinner and eating it later on. Each time we would have one of our adventures, I would find myself thinking about bringing a sharper knife and better gear to make our camping trips more comfortable. As soon as I had a few dollars saved, I was always buying new and better gear and equipment for our trips. As I got older hiking was my go to . What was the best pack? How could I pack more food not that pack and I even spent much time researching and weighing hiking items to minimize my load.
I also started thinking about what I would bring to make those trips not only comfortable, but enjoyable. I would make lists and remember to bring the fresh lemon for our fish and to bring a collapsible table for dining. It seemed the more I planned, the more prepared I was. For me, being prepared took away the uneasiness of the unknown.
In my adulthood, I expanded on prepping and planning. I continue to learn. Fly fishing.Gun safety. Food storage. Meal prepping. Water Storage. Bug Out Bags & Vehicles . Safe rooms and bunkers. To me, it is all about gaining more knowledge to build a better plan. Planning leads to preparedness. Yes, some people will roll their eyes, and others will outright call me crazy, but when COVID-19 came to town, we had plenty of toilet paper, hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol. We also had enough food to feed my family for years.
I look forward to learning more about how I can prepare for the next unknown. I am now confident in saying it's not if the next disaster will strike; it's when.

The idea of Eastern Prepping belonged to Josh as he strived to share his knowledge and love of prepping with his wife and three daughters. That simple idea developed into Eastern Prepping, which he still runs with the help of his family. Josh maintains his full time job as the owner of a restoration company, while Eastern Prepping continues to grow.
